Best Sex News, Saturday Edition

“The free-love, key-party lifestyle of the late-1960s and 1970s is back and it’s thriving in Saskatchewan,” according to Canada.com. Though the article is from November, it mysteriously turned up in my news bulletins this week and I am surely glad it did … because how else would I know about the late and legendary swinging Manhattan Social Club of Saskatoon, whose owners were quoted in a 1998 Globe and Mail article as saying that “most of their members are farmers who need to schedule events around harvest times.”

Well, of course they do.

A Canadian Supreme Court decision in 2005, R. vs. Labaye, upheld consensual group sex and swinging activities in a club  as being “consistent with personal autonomy and liberty,” and swingers clubs have proliferated across Canada since then, with no discernible overthrow of public order … such as is apparently feared in Port Richey, Florida, where Pasco County officials want to shut down Club Elite for being in violation of zoning, since a police undercover operation failed to come up with criminal grounds, perhaps because the officers were having too good a time on the job, what with participating in wet tee-shirt contests and all. The reader comments on the article at Tampa Bay Online are much more fun than the news story. The owners of the club have vowed to fight to stay open.

I can’t even begin to count the number of swinger Mardi Gras parties that are going on across the U.S. this weekend. Listings at adultfriendfinder.com, swinglifestyle.com, etc. — all the usual places.

  • According to adult industry magazine AVN, the domain Erotica.com sold for $850,000 last week just prior to the start of the Internext domain auction in Las Vegas.  Other top-selling domain names during or after auction included FootJob.com, which sold for $53,388 in silent auction after the show ended. SexyLadies.com sold in another post-auction bid for $29,420.

No, I don’t understand why FootJobs.com is worth more than SexyLadies.com, either, which I guess explains why I am not a bigtime adult web site operator. You can compare and contrast, and let me know what you think in the comments.

  • Gay men in New York City this week demonstrated in front of Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s home to protest arrests at video stores:

Gays to Bloomberg: Where’s The Love?

From The Blade: The Coalition to Stop the Arrests and Queer Justice League organized the event. Men in their 40s and 50s—the demographic making up the bulk of the false arrests—marched in a circle and held signs with slogans like “Save $20 million: Shut Down the Vice Squad” and “Protect Our Sexual Freedoms” while shouting, “Sex is not a vice, cruising’s not a crime.”

  • Passed along by The Beautiful Kind, with her tongue presumably in her cheek or some more interesting place:

Men see bikini-clad women as objects, psychologists say

That’s a shocker, eh? It’s mean to take a quote out of context, but I’m going to do so anyway.

This is just the first study which was focused on the idea that men of a certain age view sex as a highly desirable goal, and if you present them with a provocative woman, then that will tend to prime goal-related responses. — Susan Fiske, professor of psychology at Princeton University

Call me, Susan. I’ll make it up to you, I promise.

  • Finally,  in Australia, “a bit of partner swapping”  might be OK but a woman having sex with as many as 30 men a night is not, according to a Brisbane city councilor.

Have anything you want to contribute to Into Temptation? I’m picky, believe it or not, but you can hit me up on the contact page. The blog will pass 10,000 total page views this weekend … not bad, considering it launched on New Year’s Eve.

  1. Congrats on your 10,000 hits!

You've Been Tempted.

Shadowy "Into Temptation" has been a forum about evolving social-sexual networks and how they have changed and are changing lives. In other words, we talk about dating and sex.

The original intention was that this blog would also chronicle a book project on the same subject; but that is in flux, on hiatus, perhaps meant for another time.
