Thursday Sex News Roundup: Prop 8, My F-Buddy.com …
Posted By Jeff on March 5, 2009
Arguments in the Proposition 8 case are today. My bet is that the California Supreme Court will rule, 90 days from now, that the November referendum that banned gay marriage in that state is invalid, but, as we say on the internets, IANAL. (Which stands for “I am not a lawyer,” to disappoint those whose minds immediately wandered to thoughts of bodily orifices.)
My favorite blog for keeping up with Prop 8 news is Hunter of Justice. Nan Hunter is a professor at Georgetown Law School. If you wonder whether the opposing sides on the gay marriage issue can ever reconcile, I urge you to read up on The Blankenhorn-Rauch peace proposal on marriage. For additional perspective, I recommend Tracy Clark-Flory’s interview with San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera, published today at Salon.com.
In other sex news …
The envelope, please. The award for best new adult personals domain name goes to …
No, it’s not a 100 percent free site; no, I’m not recommending it. It’s just a damned catchy domain name, don’t you think? And I liked their opening press release, too:
With the continual rise in individuals signing-up to adult dating sites to organise no strings attached sex, My-Fbuddy, a new upbeat and light-hearted dating site, has reported that it isn’t just the twenty and thirty something year olds that are becoming new members, its also the forty, fifty, sixty and seventy year olds that are actively looking for sex buddies.
They get what’s going on.
In Australia (Hi folks … I’ve noticed that Into Temptation has a lot of readers in Oz and New Zealand) … 250 nudist swingers are packed into one north Cairns resort, The White Cockatoo, according to the Cairns Post. But there’s always some asshole at these parties, you know? See:
Ugly scenes at swingers’ resort as nudists war over dress code
Tourist kicked out of nudist resort for keeping clothes ON
Etc. It’s wrong of me but … well, take a look at the picture. Wouldn’t you say the gentleman ought to keep his clothes on and his hands to himself? I’m going to need to add survey/polling capability to the blog, I think …
Also in Australia, Bettina Arndt writes about the semi-inevitability of an eventualĀ “desire gap” for couples in a column in the Brisbane Times. Men want it as much or more … women want it less. True or false? I suspect the answer is the default: “It depends” … based on my own experience, anyway. But IANAAC. (I am not an advice columnist.)
Breaking News … There have been NO sightings in the media of Virginity Auction Girl Natalie Dylan for … two weeks, and that’s only if you count rants in college newspapers. Are her 15 minutes up, or can the tabloids, the BunnyRanch and Howard Stern resurrect this scam? To do so … I suspect they’ll have to produce an actual bidder this time. Well, they would for me to buy it, anyway.
More breaking news … The FBI continues to investigate the Comcast Super Bowl Porn Incident as though Osama bin Laden had comandeered the Tucson cable system. Who are you rooting for, when it’s Comcast and the FBI against some cable hacker? I know which side I’m on …
From the dark side of social networking:
MySpace cancelled the accounts of 90,000 sex offenders last month.
An 18-year-old in Wisconsin man faces up to 300 years in prison for using fake profiles on Facebook to solicit nude photos and blackmail classmates into having sex with him. Anthony Stancl will return to court on March 9; he’s been held in lieu of $250,000 bond. The moral of the story, according to Silicon Valley Insider:
Beware, That Hot Girl On Facebook Could Be A Gay Blackmailer
Truer words never written, huh?
"Into Temptation" has been a forum about evolving social-sexual networks and how they have changed and are changing lives. In other words, we talk about dating and sex.
