Toronto and AshleyMadison.com

I’m heading for Toronto tomorrow, where I plan to hook up with the folks at The Ashley Madison Agency.
Uh-huh, them:
The World’s Premier Discreet Dating Service. “Life is Short. Have an Affair.”
They’re so discreet, I can’t even easily view the source code for their home page. No matter.
The mainstream media has adopted something of a confrontational stance regarding the company’s efforts to market itself in the United States. Ashley Madison is selling adultery. It’s destroying families. From watching interviews and reading articles — CNN, MSNBC, Tyra Banks, etc. — you’d think that CEO Noel Biderman ought to be wearing a red suit and sporting horns. There are people who want to kick his ass:
I don’t want to kick Noel’s ass. In e-mail and on the phone, he strikes me as one of the good guys, one of the more honest and articulate people in the online dating business, adult or otherwise. And the story of AshleyMadison.com is part of the story of “Into Temptation.” the book. Besides gathering material for the book, I expect that I’ll be writing an article about the company that does NOT include me blaming Noel for anyone cheating on anyone else. Frankly, he’d be doing single daters everywhere a great service if he could convince all the married ones to stick to AshleyMadison.com and not run around the web lying about their relationships.
So … anyway, I’ll be back late Friday, I hope. I’m waiting-listed on the return flight.
Here’s some more video …
AshleyMadison.com Rebuttal to PTC charge that they’re corrupting children:
Points awarded for a sense of humor, I think.

"Into Temptation" is a usually-but-not-always safe-for-work forum about evolving social-sexual networks and how they have changed and are changing lives. It will also loosely chronicle the research, writing and publication, I hope in 2011, of a book by the same name.
