Thank You, Minnesota, for Al Franken

Posted By on July 6, 2009

In case you weren’t paying attention, I declared Al Franken the winner of the Minnesota race for U.S. Senate back on Jan. 5.

He’ll finally get sworn in tomorrow. About time.

Al Franken may not be a Mark Twain Twain/Sam Clemens. But he’s a Harvard grad, policy wonk, a great public speaker, professionally funny and gives better than he gets, always. And, based on his personal history, he’s a rational, sex-positive guy and in the vanguard of defending freedom of speech and in expression. I couldn’t ask for a better U.S. Senator.

So thank you, Minnesota, for giving the rest of us at least five and a half years of Al Franken, U.S. Senator.

We get a guy who can shoot Ann Coulter’s fish in a barrel:

And we also get a guy who can do Mick Jagger:

What’s not to like?

  1. I’m TOTALLY for Al, but one thing I don’t like is his bad temper. Didn’t he attack someone once? The guy was a heckling jerk, but still. And was it just once?

  2. So far, Al Franklin seems to be having a lot of fun with his new job. He is a refreshing change of pace from the usual politicians in Congress.

You've Been Tempted.

Shadowy "Into Temptation" has been a forum about evolving social-sexual networks and how they have changed and are changing lives. In other words, we talk about dating and sex.

The original intention was that this blog would also chronicle a book project on the same subject; but that is in flux, on hiatus, perhaps meant for another time.
