FINALLY … A Female Politician in a Sex Scandal

I’d really almost given up. I have said … I probably have even written … why, oh, why, can we not, just ONCE have a woman officeholder standing up in front of a microphone with her dutiful husband by her side, talking about charges that she had an affair?
Now we do.
South Carolina Republican Nikki Haley, a state legislator and leading candidate for her party’s nomination for governor, stood up in front of Gawd, Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin and everybody yesterday to deny the claim of a conservative blogger that they had engaged in an affair several years ago.
“I have been 100 percent faithful to my husband throughout our 13 years of marriage. This claim against me is categorically and totally false.” — Nikki Haley, R-S.C.
The blogger, Will Folks, a former aide to pretty-well disgraced Gov. Mark Sanford, says he did not want to admit the affair but did so when other media indicated to him they were about to write about it. Folk said he and Haley had “an inappropriate physical relationship.”
So someone’s lying.
Apparently, there are cell phone records. Anyone want to take bets?
